VolunteerGLSEN Boston needs volunteers: Please join our team. As you well know, schools are the testing grounds where students define themselves and brand others. When not consistently challenged, hate language can pollute classrooms and corridors, reinforcing invisibility and isolation. Building a safe school environment takes years and requires multiple strategies. Our volunteers are critical to achieving our mission of assuring that each member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression. Volunteers organize our annual conference, design our materials, maintain our website, conduct schools assessments, train teachers, and solicit items for our Jazz and Chocolate event; indeed, they power our organization. Please take a moment to fill out the application and submit it to volunteer@glsenboston.org or to our mailing address below. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
InternGLSEN Boston offers opportunities for short-term and long-term internships in our Boston office. Interns may join GLSEN on an academic schedule: for the entire year, for a semester, or for the summer. Internships generally require 10 to 12 hours of work per week and are unpaid unless the intern is eligible for federal work-study. To apply for a GLSEN Boston internship, please send your resume along with a brief cover letter explaining why you want to intern at GLSEN and what you hope to contribute to the organization. If you have questions, please contact GLSEN Boston at director@glsenboston.org.
