Board of Directors 2006-2007
Wendall Chestnut, Co-Chair, has worked in the private sector for a number of years. He currently serves as Senior Client Manager and Senior Vice President in Business Banking at Bank of America, where he is responsible for managing a portfolio of 150 clients with annual revenue between two and 25 million dollars. Wendall has also served as Director of Planning and Operations and Senior Vice President for Fleet Securities, Inc., as well as Manager of Marketing Communications and Vice President for the Commercial Development Group. Wendall is interested in law and has been known to moonlight as a model.
Frank Pantano, M.Ed., Co-Chair, has been a member of GLSEN Boston for ten years and has served on the board for seven. He currently serves on the GLSEN National Advisory Council. Frank has been a teacher in the City of Boston for 28 years. He teaches English Language Arts to ninth and tenth graders at Boston Community Leadership Academy, where he also serves on the Governing Board and the Leadership Team. As an openly gay school teacher, Frank believes that all children deserve access to a safe, equitable, and nonbiased education. He works to ensure that all students are safe, regardless of their race, sex, sexual orientation, or gender expression. In 2005, Frank was voted one of Boston's 15 Teachers of the Year. Frank and his husband, Ed, have been together for 28 years and were married in July 2004.
Kathy Pillsbury, Treasurer
Caroline Cox-Orrell is a junior at Newton North High School, where she
particularly enjoys studying history and international affairs. In addition
to her membership on the GLSEN Boston board, Caroline does LGBT advocacy work with COLAGE
(Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) and is a student leader of her
school's Gay-Straight Alliance. She is also a member of her school's
speech and Model UN teams. In her free time, Caroline enjoys dancing, photography, and theatre.
Morgan Darby
Adam Glick, LICSW, is an individual and group therapist at Beacon High School in Brookline. He also runs a private psychotherapy practice in Brookline, specializing in issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, and "coming out." Adam has served on the GLSEN Boston board for eleven years and has also served as vice president, programming chair, and conference coordinator. Adam has conducted trainings and workshops at various conferences, schools, and universities throughout the Northeast.

Matthew Goldsmith
Libbie Landles-Dowling joined the board in 2003 and last year served as co-chair for GLSEN Boston's annual fundraiser, Jazz and Chocolate. She is currently an MBA candidate at Harvard Business School and is focusing her studies on nonprofit management. Prior to business school, Libbie was a Vice President of Research at a Boston-based hedge fund. She has a Bachelor's degree from Wellesley College and a Master of Science in Sociology from Oxford University.
Meredith Nicholson is a junior at Brookline High School, where she is also a
part of the alternative and democratic school-within-a-school program. Meredith is
a member of her school's Gay-Straight Alliance as well as its student group
SAJE (Student Action for Justice and Education), and she works as a teen mentor
for Girls LEAP. The teachings of reform Judaism have been a significant
contributor to Meredith's passion for social justice, and she hopes to translate
this passion into a related profession when she gets older.
Ashley Pushkarewicz
Eva Rosenberg, Clerk, is a senior at Lexington High School. After graduation she plans to move to Latin America for a year to teach English and volunteer in an orphanage before entering college. In addition to working with GLSEN Boston, she has been a member of GLSEN's National Student Leadership Team for three years and serves as a student leader of her school's Gay-Straight Alliance. Eva is also a varsity fencer, a part-time tour guide, and a passionate Red Sox fan.
Sam Zegas is a freshman at Tufts University, where he is pursuing a degree in the social sciences. His classes include anthropology, international relations, comparative religion, political philosophy, sociology, and foreign language. Sam is a third-year board member with a special interest in working on youth-development initiatives. He is also active with the Youth Committee of the Massachusetts Governor's Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth. Sam enjoys photography and mountain climbing.
